Tell us about yourself
I am a married father of two little girls. I have been at ECS for seven years. I come from a family of teachers. This was my first job out of school. I have a passion for teaching and music.
Please describe what makes the ECS community special
The community is my home and I want to come back every year and give the best of myself to the students.
Why did you choose to become an educator?
I have been working with kids since I was 14. After my Music degree, I realized that I needed to be a teacher. I returned to school to complete my Education degree. I knew that this is what
would make me happy in life. I can’t imagine doing anything else.
Do you have a philosophy that guides your work in the classroom?
Inclusion. I want to create an atmosphere that welcomes everyone. I want the girls to feel like I care. I want them to grow as musicians and as people. I also want to grow as a teacher. Keep getting better at what I do. This school deserves the best and that’s what I want to be.
Any special hobbies, talents, interests?
I love puzzles, sports, and Jazz.
Tell us about a project you work on with the girls that is special.
I have every single girl in my Vocal program from Grade 8-11 make a Vocal performance recording in the studio. They work together, they listen to their singing voice, they reflect on it. I also direct a Junior School Musical in Grade 4-5 along with a co-worker. We put on Disney’s Mulan last June.
