ENGLISH TEACHER/LEARNING STRATEGIST SECONDARY LEVEL

Miss Edgar’s and Miss Cramp’s (ECS) is a small school by design. As a community-oriented independent girls’ school in the Montreal-area, we embrace a progressive approach to 21st century learning with a focus on cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset in our students from K-11. ECS is seeking an English Teacher and Learning Strategist to join our team in the Middle and Senior School. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a dynamic and forward-thinking setting and understands with us that education changes lives. ENGLISH TEACHER/LEARNING STRATEGIST 
(100% Full -time) - Replacement contract
50%  English Teacher: 1 group Grade 7 ELA, 1 group Grade 8 ELA
50% English Learning Strategist
START DATE: AUGUST 2024


Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Education - Secondary English or related field
  • Quebec Teaching Permit/Brevet d'enseignement
  • Strong reading and writing skills
  • Experience or training in literacy skill development in students with diverse learning profiles
  • Ability to work with small groups of students with learning difficulties, providing remediation and/or strategic learning support
  • Create, write, and revise Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) and/or Success Plans (SPs)
  • Write progress records for students with IEPs or SPs
  • Collaborate with teachers in their pedagogical interventions with students with learning difficulties
  • Team player who is proactive, innovative, diplomatic, and dynamic.
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change
  • Willing to commit to the ECS co-curricular program, athletic coaching, etc. 
  • Ability to adapt and embrace change
