ENGLISH HOMEROOM TEACHER ELEMENTARY (GRADE 5)
Miss Edgar’s and Miss Cramp’s (ECS) is a small by design, community-oriented independent girls’ school in the Montreal area. ECS is seeking an experienced English Homeroom Teacher (Grade 5) to join our team. English Homeroom Teacher (Grade 5)
Full-Time (100%) One-Year Contract
Start Date: August, 2024
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
The candidate must:
Have experience teaching core subjects (English Language Arts, Math)
Have experience teaching students with diverse learning profiles (differentiation: remediation to enrichment)
Design and implement authentic formative and summative assessments, providing appropriate and timely feedback to students
Be an enthusiastic, innovative, and caring educator
Demonstrate a commitment to educating the whole student
Be a collaborative, flexible, and supportive team player to ensure aligned learning experiences for students
Be open to developing positive relationships with students, parents, and the school community
- Actively promote ECS’s mission and vision for student success
- Participate in all aspects of school life, including ECS’s co-curricular program (athletic coaching, supervising student committees/clubs, leading after-school activities)
- Demonstrate an ability to adapt to and embrace change
The candidate must demonstrate a willingness to pursue ongoing professional growth and improvement in the following areas:
Communication and interpersonal skills (including SEL)
Research-based curriculum and instructional practices
Student-centered assessment for learning
Children's literature and literacy
Critical and creative thinking in mathematics
Integration of 21st-Century technologies to enhance learning experiences
