LEADERSHIP
Tête-à-tête with Board Chair, Christopher West

April 9th, 2024

With two daughters enrolled in Junior and Senior school, Christopher brings a personal connection to his role at ECS. Joining the board in 2021, he has volunteered as a member of the Finance Committee and as Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors. Having achieved many milestones, such as obtaining his B.Comm and MBA, and serving as CEO of a national retail services organization, he brings a wealth of expertise to the Board, especially as we build out our Strategic Plan.

We caught up with Christopher to learn more about his dedication to ECS, the future of the school and much more.

What drew you to ECS?

My desire to contribute to ECS is rooted in the motivation to serve my community. Having experienced the school through my two daughters, ECS is such an incredible place.

What is your vision as you plan for the future?

My vision for ECS is to lead a board that supports our Head of School in making it the best all girls school in Canada. To do so, we’ll look at the opportunities of the future and position ECS to not only be ready for change, but to thrive and lead.

How will you honour the legacy of ECS?

Preserving what makes ECS great while evolving with the times is very important to me. Throughout my tenure, my compass will remain our founder’s entrepreneurial and trailblazing mindset. We will continue to educate and develop our girls and young women to be well-rounded, fearless high-achievers like the generations of graduates who preceded them.
