ECS Athletics focuses on both competitive and recreational sports. Our competitive programme focuses on the development of athletic excellence, teamwork and sportsmanship. Athletes can expect to practice or play their sport 2-4 times per week as well as compete in a variety of local and nationally located tournaments. Teams compete in GMAA, the Montreal Independent Schools League, and the Canadian Accredited Independent School Tournaments.
The recreational programme is non-competitive in nature and focuses on participation. The goal is to encourage students to develop healthy lifelong habits through exposure to a wide variety of activities that students can pursue throughout their lifetime.
The practice hours for both competitive and recreational programmes are in the mornings and afternoons. Morning practices run from 7:00am - 8:00am. There are two afternoon practices from 3:30-4:45pm and 4:45-6:00pm.
The ECS community acknowledges that the land on which we learn is the ancestral territory of the Kanien'kehá (Mohawk) Nation. We honor the continued presence of Indigenous peoples on this land and remain wholeheartedly committed to working towards reconciliation.
ECS is a private school for girls that offers educational services in English from kindergarten to secondary 5, leading to the secondary school diploma (MEQ).
