Philanthropy

"Non Nobis Sed Urbi Et Orbi."
Not for Ourselves Alone, but for the City and the World.

ECS was founded on the belief that community involvement is a vital part of one’s holistic growth. Our history of philanthropy is longstanding, from a milk fund during the Great Depression, to raising funds for hospitals in need of medical equipment during World War II.

Selected by Miss Edgar and Miss Cramp, our Non Nobis motto remains strong. It is central to our philosophy, with community service playing a vital role in both our curriculum and student life. Each grade has a specific commitment to fulfill during the year, inspiring students to understand others, and therefore better understand themselves. They graduate from ECS as purposeful global citizens who put Non-Nobis into action well beyond their academic years.

Student-Led Fundraising

Alongside our school fundraising initiatives, we find joy in supporting important causes:
  • Terry Fox Run
  • Girls for the Cure
  • Shoes for School
  • Holiday baskets
Curriculum
  • YPI (Youth Philanthropy Initiative)
  • Entrepreneurial Platform projects rooted in social justice and sustainability
Community Service

Students engage in community service hours on a yearly basis, and often exceed the minimum requirement.

At the end of the academic year, students host a special Non Nobis Celebration featuring panels and influential guests. This serves as a culmination of all their philanthropic efforts.
