  • Administrative Assistant

    We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill the following position:

    Administrative Assistant
    Full time 
     
    The Administrative Assistant is expected to provide administrative support to the Leadership team. Relationship building is a key element of this position. Extreme discretion and excellent listening skills are crucial to success in the role. The position requires the ability to change priorities quickly and balance many competing requests.  

    Specific Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate the substitution program by arranging for substitute teachers as needed and preparing records for the business office
    • Coordinate the scheduling of learning support resources
    • Coordinate new faculty/staff orientation (disseminating school information, preparing packages, etc.)
    • Maintain attendance records and follows-up on absences
    • Responds to inquiries, disseminates information, arranges appointments both with internal and external constituents
    • Prepare correspondence:  i.e. letters to parents, thank you notes, recommendation letters for students and staff, ministry documentation, etc
    • Provide support during exam period, with scheduling, planning and photocopying
    • Collect and organize resources related to the academic program
    • Maintain and update records relating to special programs within student life
    • Participate in the organization of school events, such as curriculum evenings and other parent events
    • Perform other administrative duties as needed (i.e. compiling statistical reports, placing orders, updating schedules, seeking out requested information, etc.)

    Qualifications Required:
    • DEC
    • 3-5 years experience as an Administrative Assistant, preferably in a school environment
    • Work experience with a MAC operating system
    • Proficient with Google Apps (Google Docs & Google Sheets)
    • Bilingual

  • DATABASE ANALYST

    We are looking for a qualified candidate to fill the following position:

    Database Analyst

    Reporting to the Director of Advancement, and working in tandem with the Advancement Team, the Database Analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining the Raiser’s Edge database while supporting the School’s advancement through prospect research and donor relations.

    Principal Responsibilities

    • Provide leadership on the optimization of the use of Raiser’s Edge by establishing input standards, providing a strategy for updating and correcting database records, constituent codes and other aspects of constituent data to improve caliber of data, consistency of data and quality of output;
    • Create and execute accurate queries in Raiser’s Edge in order to extract data as requested.
    • Develop strategic tracking reports for all fundraising initiatives as required and requested by Director of Advancement;
    • Conduct a strategic systems analysis of the interaction of the systems of the Business Office, Registrar and Advancement Office recommending improvements with the goal of reducing manual transactions, improving efficiencies and optimizing the flow of all data;
    • Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all donations, acknowledgement letters;
    • Prepare professional and meaningful acknowledgement/thank you letters for all gifts- monetary and gifts in kind;
    • Act as a liaison between the Advancement Office and the Business Office to ensure timely and accurate batch reporting and reconciliations with an aim to improve efficiencies where possible;
    • Prepare tax receipted donations file for annual audit as required by Business Office;
    • Oversee the school’s stewardship plan for all gifts;
    • Responsible for the maintenance of accurate and up to date records for individual donor files, donations to ECS Foundation, ECS School and other specific fundraising initiatives;
    • Keep up to date on all legal information regarding tax receipting of donations;
    • Provide input for the advancement of strategic goals;
    • Lead the training on use of Prospect Research Software;
    • Conduct preliminary research on prospective individual donors, granting Foundations and prospective corporate donors;
    • Create online registration pages for friendraiser and fundraising events and track guest lists, create bidding sheets for silent auction, track donated auction items, prepare a timely and accurate reconciliation of all auction proceeds and perform all other duties as assigned for fundraising events;
    • Responsibility for the timely and accurate reconciliation of all event registration fees with attendance for all events/online purchases;

    Position Requirements

  • LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

    We are looking for qualified candidates to fill the following position:

    Position: Laboratory Technician
    Part-Time (Hourly Wage)

    The laboratory technician supports the science department in the preparation, set-up and clean-up of the secondary science laboratories. This position would include the following responsibilities:

     
     SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Prepare equipment, materials and chemicals in advance of the lab at the request of the teacher
    • Set-up of labs and lab exams according to instructions provided by the teacher
    • Assist with some lab classes, supporting the teacher
    • Clean equipment and lab space after a lab is complete
    • Maintain the organization of the lab equipment, materials and chemicals
    • Maintain a log of all labs prepared throughout the year (digital and hardcopy format).
    • Monthly cleaning of lab coats (can be done more often if necessary)
    • Organize repair and maintenance of equipment, for example, microscopes
    • Maintain a safe chemical storage and disposal system in accordance to provincial guidelines.
    • Maintain an inventory of equipment
    • Order lab equipment and supplies
    • Purchasing supplies for labs (online and in stores)
    • Support the subject teacher during lab exams
    • Assist with school events such as Open House and Admissions

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 
    • Experience as a lab technician or related field
    • Knowledge of the secondary science curriculum
    • Flexible schedule

  • Learning Specialist / Orthopedagogue

    LEARNING SPECIALIST / ORTHOPEDAGOGUE
    SECONDARY LEVEL
    FULL-TIME - REPLACEMENT

    POSITION DESCRIPTION
    • Identifies and assesses difficulties and learning disabilities in the spoken and written language and logical-mathematical reasoning;
    • Intervenes with students (in groups or individually) to help themread, write and reason;
    • Assists and advises teachers in their pedagogical interventions with students with learning difficulties and makes recommendations for professional development, where needed;
    • Collaborates with parents to gather data and makes recommendations for home interventions;
    • Refers students to other specialists, as required;
    • Creates, drafts and revises individualized educational plans (IEPs) and Growth Plan (GP);
    • Keeps detailed records of the progress of students with IEP or Growth Plan (GP);
    • Organizes/coordinates the accommodations for learning and assessment
    • Collaborates with the admissions team to meet the needs of student applicants
    • Analyses current programs and makes recommendations, as required
    • Keeps abreast of research, changes, and innovation;

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED 

    Candidates should have a university degree in an appropriate field of specialization, such as a Bachelor of Education in Special Education. A Masters Degree would be an asset. Candidates should have experience working with students at the secondary school level. Bilingualism is an asset.

    ORTHOPÉDAGOGUE

    L'orthopédagogue est un pédagogue spécialisé dans le domaine des sciences de l'éducation qui évalue et qui intervient auprès des apprenants qui sont susceptibles de présenter, ou qui présentent, des difficultés d'apprentissage scolaire, en lecture, en écriture ou en mathématique, incluant les troubles d'apprentissage.

    Dans le cadre de ses interventions, l'orthopédagogue...
    • Dépiste, identifie et évalue les difficultés et les troubles d’apprentissage scolaire dans le domaine du langage parlé et écrit, du raisonnement logico-mathématique et du développement psychomoteur;
    • Assiste et conseille l’enseignant ou l’enseignante dans ses interventions pédagogiques auprès des élèves manifestant des difficultés d’apprentissage;
    • Apprend aux élèves, en groupe ou en individuel, à lire, à écrire et à raisonner au moyen de techniques de l’orthopédagogie;
    • Établit des programmes d’études adaptés aux besoins individuels des élèves;
    • Intervient auprès des parents, en les encadrant et en leur fournissant un support éducatif;
    • Conseille sur l’achat de l’équipement et du matériel didactique, ainsi que sur l’aménagement des locaux;
    • Tient des dossiers détaillés des progrès de chacun des élèves;
    • Se tient au courant des recherches, changements et innovations dans le domaine de l’orthopédagogie;
    • Réfère l’élève, dans certains cas, à d’autres spécialistes;
    • Communique avec les professionnelles impliqués avec l’élève en dehors de l’école;
    • Travaille en partenariat avec la communauté éducative;
    • Travaille en lien proche avec la directrice de l’école primaire; et complète d’autres tâches reliées à la demande de la directrice;
    Les candidat(e)s devront avoir un baccalauréat universitaire dans le domaine de l’éducation spécialisée. Les candidat(e)s doivent aussi avoir de l’expérience avec les élèves de l’école primaire. Une maîtrise et le bilingualisme sont des atouts.
