Founded in 1909 by two trailblazing suffragettes, Miss Edgar’s and Miss Cramp’s School (ECS) is a leading independent K to 11 English language girls' school in Montreal. From our signature Entrepreneurial Platform, to STEAM and philanthropy, we foster critical thinking and intellectual curiosity. Our focus on whole-girl development challenges and inspires each student to reach her full potential. She graduates confident, capable and connected, ready to succeed and make a positive impact.
"I could name many things I love about ECS, but one in particular is how much the teachers care for students. They make sure we succeed and are prepared for our future."
- K. Sioufi ‘23 (Old Girl)
"We chose ECS as our dream school because they focus on academic excellence through real world experiences instead of only memorization for finals."
- Mr. Fei, Parent
"At ECS, every girl is known, loved and celebrated. Our commitment to providing a nurturing and challenging environment for our students is at the heart of all we do."
The ECS community acknowledges that the land on which we learn is the ancestral territory of the Kanien'kehá (Mohawk) Nation. We honor the continued presence of Indigenous peoples on this land and remain wholeheartedly committed to working towards reconciliation.
ECS is a private school for girls that offers educational services in English from kindergarten to secondary 5, leading to the secondary school diploma (MEQ).
