Together, we’re building something extraordinary! Discover what the Above & Beyond Capital Campaign means for our school, as well as giving options and more.

List of 12 items.

  • Why is the Above & Beyond Campaign so important?

This is more than a campaign; it’s a defining moment for ECS’ future as a leader in championing girls' education and ensuring our school remains a vital pillar of Montreal’s English-language educational landscape.
  • Why is 100% participation so important?

Reaching 100% shows that our whole community believes in ECS and is committed to its future. It is a powerful way to live our Non Nobis value—by giving back, we lead by example for our girls. High participation also signals strength and unity to potential families and funding partners, helping ECS grow and thrive.
  • How can I make a donation?

There are many ways to give! You can make a one-time or monthly gift online, send a donation by mail, arrange a wire transfer, donate appreciated securities, set up payroll deductions, or request a corporate matching gift. Visit our Ways to Give section for full details on each option.

Online (one-time gift or monthly) • Mail • Wire transfer • Appreciated securities • Payroll deduction • Corporate matching gift
  • Is there a minimum amount I must give?

There is no minimum. Your support at any level makes a difference and is deeply appreciated.
  • Will I receive a tax receipt?

Yes. All eligible donations of $10 or more will receive a charitable tax receipt. Receipts are usually issued shortly after the gift is processed.
  • Can I spread my gift over time?

Yes! You can make a pledge and spread your donation over a period of up to three years. This is a great way to make a more significant impact in a manageable way.
  • Can I make my gift in honour or memory of someone?

Absolutely. Tribute gifts are a meaningful way to honour someone special. Simply check the appropriate box on the donation form to indicate your intention when making your gift.
  • Are there recognition or naming opportunities?

We are delighted to offer meaningful recognition opportunities for leadership-level gifts, such as named spaces or commemorative acknowledgments. These opportunities will be thoughtfully considered on an individual basis to ensure they reflect the spirit and impact of each gift. Please view our Donor Guide, and contact us to learn more.
  • What is a gift of securities, and why should I consider it?

Donating publicly traded stocks or mutual funds directly to ECS allows you to avoid capital gains tax and receive a tax receipt for the full value. It is one of the most tax-efficient ways to give.
  • Can my employer match my donation?

Many companies offer matching gift programmes. Check with your HR department, as your gift could be doubled (or even tripled!)
  • What happens if ECS doesn’t meet its $6.5 million goal?

We are very confident in the strength of our community to rise to the challenge! If we do not reach our fundraising goal by 2027, we will still be in a position to move forward with the priorities we can support, focusing on our most urgent needs. Regardless of the outcome, our students, faculty, and staff will benefit from many enhancements. We are moving ahead with great optimism; the more we raise, the more we can invest in ECS’ future as a strong independent school!

If you have further questions, please contact the Advancement Office (advancement@ecs.qc.ca).
  • Who can I speak to about giving or pledging?

Our Advancement Office is here to help! For questions, guidance, or a confidential conversation, please contact Véronique Courey, Director of Advancement at coureyv@ecs.qc.ca.

Land Acknowledgment

The ECS community acknowledges that the land on which we learn is the ancestral territory of the Kanien'kehá (Mohawk) Nation. We honor the continued presence of Indigenous peoples on this land and remain wholeheartedly committed to working towards reconciliation.

ECS is a private school for girls that offers educational services in English from kindergarten to secondary 5, leading to the secondary school diploma (MEQ).
