ADMISSIONS ASSOCIATE

ADMISSIONS ASSOCIATE- (ONE-YEAR CONTRACT)

We are looking for an individual, preferably a teacher with QAIS experience, to work in our Admissions Office. 

Position Summary: 

The Admissions Associate will support all aspects of the admission process, including outreach and recruitment of prospective families. 

Specific Responsibilities: 

  • Reviews admission inquiries and applications to ensure completeness and follows up on needed information
  • Manages applications for English eligibility, including liaising with new and current parents
  • Manages applications for visas for international students and MEES exceptions for students on temporary visas
  • Ensures that international students have the required admission documents and tests
  • Monitors and reports on the enrolment funnel at all grade levels
  • Interviews candidates for admission, including touring interested families at all grade levels
  • Organizes admission events, including Open Houses, Grade 7 visits, admission fairs and new parent evenings
  • Represents the school at admission events
  • In tandem with the Admission Coordinator, liaises with pre-schools, feeder schools, CEGEP counselors, corporate relocation agents, real estate agents and other possible contacts for referrals
  • Manages the testing process for all incoming students, including third-party testing through the QAIS common testing group
  • Manages student admission ambassadors- including training for school tours and Open Houses
  • Manages the re-enrollment process
  • Sits on the admission committees for all school divisions
  • In collaboration with the Admission Coordinator, manages admission decisions at all divisions ensuring that they are properly communicated to families
  • Manages financial aid information, including acting as liaison with Apple Financial Services (FACS)
Qualifications Required: 

  • Teaching background in an independent school setting preferred
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Extremely organized with attention to detail
  • Strong active listening and communication skills
  • Team player
  • Bilingual
