Tia Karass-Rohan (’12), Anh Nguyen ('10) and Lauren Sugar ('11) talked frankly about the programmes they pursued after graduating from ECS, and how they had arrived at the decision to apply to medical school.
In Tia’s case, “volunteering at an elder-care facility and seeing how the health-care team there made a real difference in people’s lives” played a key role in her choice of what to do after studying Arts and Science at Marianopolis.
All three Old Girls were clearly grateful for the ways in which ECS had prepared them to take on new challenges, including demanding research, purposeful writing, and engaged interaction—in both English and French (one of the three presenters is studying at Université de Montréal, two at McGill).
ECS students and faculty are looking forward to hearing from more of our accomplished alumnae during this week’s Homecoming celebrations, including Career Day!
The ECS community acknowledges that the land on which we learn is the ancestral territory of the Kanien'kehá (Mohawk) Nation. We honor the continued presence of Indigenous peoples on this land and remain wholeheartedly committed to working towards reconciliation.
ECS is a private school for girls that offers educational services in English from kindergarten to secondary 5, leading to the secondary school diploma (MEQ).
