Miss Edgar’s and Miss Cramp’s School (“ECS” or “us” or “we”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy provides detailed information about how ECS collects, uses, and discloses personal information. Our processes are designed to meet or exceed the principles set forth in the Quebec Personal Information Protection Statutes.
Collecting Personal Information
Adhering to privacy standards is a priority for us. ECS will not collect personally identifying information about you when you visit our website unless you choose to provide us with that information. For example, when you send us an email, complete an online form, participate in a survey, or make a donation.
ECS will not share your information with third parties except as set forth below under “Sharing Personal Information.”
Usage of Personal Information
ECS uses personal information as required in order to fulfil our mission and provide educational and co-curricular services and programmes. For example, we may use personal information for the following purposes:

To communicate with past and present families, students, alumni, donors, and other members of the ECS community to inform them of events, news, and activities in the promotion of the school, including volunteer opportunities and fundraising initiatives.

If for any reason, personal information is required to fulfil another purpose other than those stated at the time of collection, ECS will seek consent from the appropriate person. In the case of a student’s personal information, ECS will seek consent from the student and/or parent or guardian depending on the circumstances and the student’s maturity and ability to understand the consequences of the proposed use and disclosure.
Storage and Access
ECS maintains confidential and secure files and databases and has systems and procedures in place for the appropriate use and safeguarding of personal information. Only certain roles within the school are authorised to view and use personal information.
Some information collected by ECS is stored by outside hosted databases or cloud storage providers. We require these outside entities to securely maintain personal information in accordance with our privacy policy and all applicable laws.
Sharing Personal Information
ECS does not rent, sell, or trade personal information. ECS may disclose personal information to entities outside of our school where permitted by law. For example, we may disclose specific information to organisations that provide services to ECS. Such service providers are required to use the information only at our direction and in accordance with our privacy policy and all applicable laws. ECS may also be required by law to disclose information in some select cases. For example, student information is filed on set dates with the Quebec Ministry of Education.
Except as required or permitted by law, ECS will not disclose personal information to others outside of our school without the consent of the individual.
Changes To Personal Information
We make efforts to ensure all personal information held in relation to an individual is up-to-date and accurate. All community members should notify ECS in case of any significant changes to their information, such as contact details, to info@ecs.qc.ca.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information
When you visit our website, we collect standard information such as your web browser and operating system and aggregate information about the usage of our site, pages visited, length of visit. This information does not identify you personally.
ECS’s website does not currently employ cookies.
